  2. #1: it was friday and everything's cool on friday

    ReplyDelete
  3. #4: today's slam felt different. there was something immediate about it. urgent. real. i don't know if there's one word to describe it.

    ReplyDelete
  4. #5 today made me excited to write

    ReplyDelete
  5. #6 i felt like we all mattered to eachother

    ReplyDelete
  6. #7: I almost cried when Emily said I'm sorry to each one of her teachers.

    ReplyDelete
  7. My favorite part was when you acted like Rachel and Brit was Brooklyn.

    ReplyDelete
  8. #9 This class actually made me feel sad to leave High School.

    ReplyDelete
  9. #13: it got me thinking about the blogs again

    2. I get what you're saying I post for the first time in two months and it didn't show up immediately I'm so angry in that privileged rich kid way

      Delete
  10. #14: I'm still thinking about it.

    ReplyDelete
  11. #15 we had 3 people get up that aren't even in the class

    ReplyDelete
  12. #16 I haven't written anything so real in my journal in a long time

    ReplyDelete
  13. #17 A bunch of us sat in different seats

    ReplyDelete
  14. #18: it was the closest my wife has ever been to coming to a class.

    ReplyDelete
  15. #19 we all texted different people asking what they were doing

    ReplyDelete
  16. #20 and most of them answered with whatever they were doing, and then "why?"

    ReplyDelete
  17. #21 and none of us knew how to respond after that

    ReplyDelete
  18. So we talked about life and we talked about blogs and we talked about sol's post but did we talk about what our post was about this week or did I miss something

Also sorry for interrupting the list

#22 I realized that I wasn't the only one slightly freaking out about life after Highschool

Even when you have a plan you still kind of freak out? Is thT normal??

Do you ever figure it out??????

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Yeah, we never talked about this week's post, it's just rn, so write about rn, either take your journal entry and publish it or write a new one.

      #23: amber's story

#24: I texted Saunders, but it wasn't delivered lol

      Delete
    2. #25: hearing people talk about high school coming to an end is #real it's like talking about death, the stakes are high, what you think is important and relevant because your audience cares about that stuff too.

And it will go away, amber. Don't worry too much about it, but don't ignore it either. One day you'll be old and you won't have an exciting near future to worry about. You'll just be getting new carpet in your house. Don't get me wrong, new carpet is dope, it's just not as important as what you're dealing with now.

  20. "Don't worry about it too much, but don't ignore it"

I think that's the best advice I've got

#26 we all cared about eachother

  21. #27 there werent any tourists. Even the 3 kids that weren't in our class were locals

    ReplyDelete
  22. #29 when we started plotting ways to get Rachel to class (let's do it, I'll film the whole thing lol)

    ReplyDelete
  23. #31 Luke trying to open his bag of chips while we were writing

    ReplyDelete
  24. #32 That was the most unified I felt as a class

    ReplyDelete
  25. #34 Actually being excited to get up in front of the class not feeling like I had to

    ReplyDelete
  26. #35 feeling like i was apart of the class

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  28. #37 Emily's reaction when I read my comment about having White Bread come to class one day

  29. #38: the inside joke about being Zac (aka sad)

    ReplyDelete
  30. #39: when jake got up his whole post was so poetic to me, even though he was just writing what was on his mind. Jake, post that rn in your blog bro.

    ReplyDelete
  31. #40 Nelson showing us Rachel's texts about the carpet being welded down

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  33. #42 the meaning of life
(and when Nelson challenged me to do something different in a video, gah)

    ReplyDelete
  34. #43: I had a wake up call when Madi talked about her job and how meaningful and awkward and important it is. I thought she worked at Walmart or something and I secretly resented her for working more than she wrote. But I don't know everything.

    ReplyDelete
  35. #44 This whole freakin rn prompt!
(where did you come up with this/how did you decide to do this)

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I don't know where it came from. I just wanted to do something that required nothing but your brain and your pen. It was like a 30 min project without the materials and without the prompt.

      Delete
  36. #45 Talking about how deepparis was dying so now people are commenting more
    *cough*me*cough*

    ReplyDelete
  37. #46 Getting an inside look on what people were doing in class. If they were really 'there' or off in their own little world. Seeing how their mind works and what they think about

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  39. #48 Seeing Nelson actually excited about class again

    ReplyDelete
  40. #49 reading stuff "hot off the press"

i kinda liked hearing this more than people's polished slam poems

#50 hearing the class laugh at parts of my entry where i didn't expect anyone to laugh
(like how is it funny that i only have $23 in my savings, i don't know, but you're all about to pee your pants because now i only have $1.26)
but it helped me realize that i need to lighten up about shiz haha.

update - i just paid sydnee's mom back .. with interest. it's all good.

    ReplyDelete
  41. also nelson - i apologized, but i neglected to say thank you.

    thank you.

    ReplyDelete
  42. #51: you're right Hannah, I was excited about class. It's easy to just go through the motions and it's one of my biggest fears in teaching and in life.

    ReplyDelete
  43. #52 sol bringing our class back to life

    ReplyDelete
  44. #53 being legitimately excited to come to class. Don't get me wrong, I'm never like unenthusiastic or zac when I come to class, but I seriously feel like this is somewhere I'm accepted and somewhere we can all come together and share what's in our heads in a (completely legal) unfiltered and un-judgmental way

    ReplyDelete
  45. #54: almost everyone was there.

    ReplyDelete
  46. #55: almost everyone was on time.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  52. #60 getting told that i shouldn't skip college. That's legitly the first time I think that ever went through my head

    ReplyDelete
  53. #61 pretending (and bombing) to be nelson

    ReplyDelete
  54. #62 just barely realizing that pretending to be nelson meant that, since he was rachel, we would've been Britt's parents and that's terrifying cause the dude can kill me with one hand

    ReplyDelete
  55. #62: I forgot how much I love you guys.

    ReplyDelete
  56. #64 that it was raw and we didn't think our words had to be perfect

    ReplyDelete
  66. #71: we stopped sharing at 2pm, which was pretty early, but that made it so I didn't have anxiety that I always have at the end of class like the bell's going to ring in the middle of someone's piece.

    ReplyDelete
  67. #72 I read everyone's posts because I wanted to

    ReplyDelete
  68. Ps I didn't go to 1st period

    ReplyDelete
  80. #87: Some people admitted that they may not even graduate

    ReplyDelete
  81. #88: I don't think anyone fell asleep

    ReplyDelete
  82. #89: People looked like they were comfortable sharing. They didn't stutter or mess up really.

    ReplyDelete
  83. #90: We have almost made it to 100 comments

    ReplyDelete

    1. As to why this class was good. (114 in total)

      Delete
  84. #92: there was no prompt. No topic to arbitrarily try to cover. Just write.

    ReplyDelete
  85. #93 it was ( mostly ) quiet when we wrote

    ReplyDelete
  86. #94 i sat in the very back corner & didn't have my glasses but it was okay because there wasn't much to look at, just lots to listen to

    ReplyDelete
  87. #95: class felt a little dead the previous few weeks. So that made way for the revival. The returning feeling of being woke.

    ReplyDelete
